Starseeds

History of Starseeds

The specific word "starseed" was first used in Timothy Leary’s 1973 book Terra: II, A Way Out. Leary, who was in prison at the time, recorded extraterrestrial "transmissions" in the book, as well as speculating that humanity, as well as all life on Earth, was seeded in an act of directed panspermia. However, the term "starseed" was applied to the then-recently discovered Comet Kahoutek, saying it was a symbol of "new light, new life, [and a] bright reminder of our extraterrestrial origin and future."

However, the concept of humans being reincarnated aliens (the modern definition) would be codifed in Brad Steiger’s 1976 book Gods of Aquarius. Steiger discusses a group called the "Star Maidens," a near-exclusively female group who claimed to have come to Earth from elsewhere, and believed they were a product of alien-human genetic modification. Each of the Maidens varied in appearance, personality, and occupation, but all of them reported a feeling that "their ancestors came from another word, another dimension, another level of intelligence." Some of them spoke of a starship that came to Earth thousands of years ago to "observe, to study, to blend" with humanity.

One such Maiden recounted that she came from Venus, along with "thousands" more from countless other worlds. Some only stay on Earth to complete specific missions, she said, while others, including her, chose to spend the rest of their lives on Earth. Another Maiden mentioned beings from Jupiter, as well as beings from other dimensions. "So there is one dimension of Earth in which the majority of people operate," she explained, "but the two of us – and others like us – have become partial citizens of the opposite one. Therefore, we are alien, so to speak, and we feel it! We can't understand it, but we do feel it!"

Steiger continued his research on similar groups with the 1986 book Star People, which I was unable to find a full copy of. I was unable to find a book that connected "starseed" with the definition we know today, however, where both the term and definition comes from is clear. Based on these sources, a starseed is someone who believes they are of non-Earth origin, be it their true parentage or their soul.

Symptoms of Starseeds

While unable to find a full copy of Star People, I was able to find the questionnaire Steiger used to identify common traits among them. I have copied it below with slight modification for easier readability, along with the percentages if given if you hover tover the text. The original is linked in my sources.

Furthermore, I have consulted multiple online articles to see how preserved this list has been since 1986. Sources are mentioned via hovering. Italicised items were found in Steiger’s original list.

Starseed Types

Theoretically, considering the size of the universe, there are a near infinite amount of potential starseeds if you ascribe to their existence. Factoring what the Star Maidens said, this number could be much higher if you take into account alternate dimensions. Many lists include Atlantean and Lemurian souls as "starseeds," which given the above definition, is false, and are not included. If you believe yourself to be a starseed, use both the above lists and the below traits to figure out where your origin may be.

Andromedan starseeds are thought to be adventurous and freedom-loving, even if that means being indecisive and constantly-shifting. They are approachable and laid-back, but may be critical of others and themselves as well as dramatic. Sources are confused on whether Andromendans are confident or not.
